Child Care, Teaching Experience, and Pet Care

I have been working with children in various settings since 2010. I am CPR/AED/First Aid and Allergy Prevention Certified and have taken college courses on Child Development and Health. I have worked in camp settings, daycare's, as a nanny (both live-in and live-out), as a substitute teacher, 3rd-grade teacher, and at pools with kids (both teaching lessons and lifeguarding).

I love finding creative ways to make each child's day special and learning through experiences. I enjoy working in small settings that way I can get to know the individual on more than just a surface level and in return they can do the same with me.

At camp, I worked with various age groups (from 5 to 15 years old), get ready for the day, and motivate them to try new activities. At the daycare, I worked with kids who were 3 years old all the way up to 14 years old. I would take attendance, make snacks, and make up different games for the kids. At the pool, I was a lifeguard and would also teach swimming lessons. I taught parent-tot swimming lessons with kids as young as 6 months old. The oldest kids I taught were in middle school around 13 years old prepping them for swim teams. The kids I've nannied for ranged in age from newborn to 14 years old. I enjoy taking them to classes, museums, local attractions, and practicing languages such as Hebrew, French, ASL. I also enjoy being out in nature, swimming and making music together. I've done overnights, driving, swimming lessons, preparing snacks and meals, watching multiple kids, caring for pets, traveling with families, decorated for parties, and assisting where needed.

When teaching 3rd-grade Hebrew school our class focused on learning how to read, speak, and write Hebrew; and to learn about Jewish history, culture, the Holocaust, and Israel. I helped facilitate good manners, friendship skills, and exploring/expanding interests. I assisted students to strengthen and develop social skills, peer relations, and general interpersonal skills. Frequently worked with children with special needs.

I focus on the following regarding teaching in a secular pre-school setting: learning numbers, letters, spelling, time, reading, working independently to complete a task, ex.) tying shoes. I also focus on calming down techniques through breathing/yoga/pool exercises, baking, being out in nature ex.) gardening, music (singing, dancing, and piano), expressing one's self through artwork, and "resetting"  with "The Nurtured Heart Approach."

The Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA), created by Howard Glasser, is a relationship-focused methodology founded strategically in The 3 Stands™; helping children and adults build Inner Wealth™ and use their intensity in successful ways. NHA has become a powerful way of awakening the inherent greatness in all children while facilitating parenting, caregiver, and classroom success.

I had a cat when I was younger and have had a poodle for the past 10 years. I’ve also cared for a golden doodle, a Shih Tzu, and various mixed dogs. I love walks in the park, by water, and throwing the frisbee with furry friends. I will treat your pet like family, and make sure they are comfortable. Each pet is unique like each person, let me know (just like you would for a child) if they have allergies, if they get along with other animals, if they are sensitive to sounds or other quirks. Services offered- walking/drop-in visits, feeding, brushing.

In the photo gallery below you will find the resources, activities I've used, as well as reviews!
